Made with basil from Egypt, a country known to produce some of the world's most flavorful basil.
Basil, known as the King of Herbs, is indigenous to central Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. People have used basil for a variety of purposes for 4,000–5,000 years, including as an embalming ingredient, an antidote to snake bites, and as an aphrodisiac. The spice trade brought basil to the ancient Mediterranean empires, and today the herb is associated with Italian cuisine.
